Carolyn Parrish: From City Council to Mayoral Candidate
Longtime Councillor Seeks City's Top Job
After serving on Mississauga council for over a decade, Carolyn Parrish has announced her bid for mayor.
Parrish, who was most recently elected to council in 2014, has a long history of public service in the city. She has served on numerous committees and boards, and has been a vocal advocate for residents on issues such as transit, affordable housing, and environmental protection.
In her announcement speech, Parrish laid out her vision for Mississauga, saying she wants to make it "a city where everyone has a chance to succeed." She pledged to focus on creating jobs, improving infrastructure, and making the city more affordable and livable.
Parrish faces a crowded field of candidates in the mayoral race, but she is considered to be a top contender. She has a strong base of support in Ward 5, where she has served as the councillor since 2014. The mayoral election will be held on October 24, 2022.
